Prof Marion Merklein receives a Frederick W. Taylor Medal for her research work!

The SME (Society of Manufacturing Engineers) awards several prizes and honours every year. The Frederick W. Taylor Research Medal is of particular importance in the field of production science. Candidates can be nominated internationally, from which an award winner is then selected. Information on the conditions and all previous award winners can be found under this link.
This year, Prof Marion Merklein is only the fifth ever winner from Germany and the first female winner in Germany to receive this prestigious award. The award recognises her outstanding publications in the field of understanding materials, systems, principles, processes and their application to improve manufacturing processes. The SME press release summarises this year’s award winners. A more detailed tribute to the many years of achievement honoured with the Taylor Medal has also been published.

The entire LFT team is very proud of this award!
